
A teenage life was tragically cut short in Dearborn Heights during a drag race gone wrong. According to Audacy, a 16-year-old boy lost control of his BMW while racing and fatally crashed into a building. The collision occurred around 11 p.m. last night on westbound Ford Rd. just east of Telegraph Rd.
At the scene, first responders found the young driver deceased. The other driver involved in the race, also behind the wheel of a BMW, was found and cited for speeding by the Dearborn Heights Police Department. The authorities have been clear about continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this harrowing incident thoroughly.
The crash caused substantial damage to the Meemic Insurance Company building at the intersection of Ford Rd. and Rosetta. Images shared by the police department show the extent of the wreckage and disarray that followed this catastrophic event.
