A 15-year-old boy in north Houston has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting his mother and sister multiple times. The incident, which occurred last night on Greens Road near the Hardy Toll Road, began when the teen dialed 911 with threats of violence against himself or someone else, KHOU reported.
"[The officers] found out that the 15-year-old suspect had just eaten a bunch of edibles and I guess had a bad reaction to them, at which point he ended up using that gun and shooting his mother multiple times in the back and shooting one of his sisters multiple times," Houston Police Department Lt. JP Horelica told KHOU. When firefighters first arrived on the scene, they were confronted by the armed teen in the parking lot who claimed to have killed someone before discarding his weapon and fleeing.
Both victims, the mother and 17-year-old sister of the suspect, were found with multiple gunshot wounds and were transported to area hospitals in critical condition for surgery. According to Click2Houston, the shooting took place at their apartment on Greens Road and Seminar Drive.
Despite the commotion and the violence that unfolded, the teen's 16-year-old sister, who was also present during the incident, remained unharmed. Police eventually apprehended the teenager near the scene of the crime.
