Thousand Oaks Suspect Arrested for Commercial Burglary Following Citizen TipSource: Google Street View

A suspect connected to a commercial burglary in Thousand Oaks has been arrested, according to a media release by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. On January 21, deputies responded to a burglary on the 2000 Block of Michael Drive in Newbury Park, where they found that a male had forced entry and stolen property.

The investigation, led by detectives from Thousand Oaks Station, identified 26-year-old Ryan Doran from Thousand Oaks as the suspect. Despite being spotted by patrol deputies between January 27 and 29, Doran managed to evade arrest on multiple occasions. His run from the law ended on the evening of January 29, when a citizen tipped off a patrol deputy and after a brief foot chase, Doran was apprehended.

Doran is now facing charges of commercial burglary, as detailed in a news release published on Monday. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office took to social media and a community notification service, Nixle, to express appreciation for the public's help in solving the crime. They reminded residents to sign up for local alerts and advisories by texting their zip code to 888777.
