The tranquility of a Macomb Township mobile home park was disrupted when a drive-by shooting occurred on the evening of Sunday. According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, multiple gunshots were fired from a white Cadillac SUV on Sheri Drive in the Westbridge Manor Mobile Home Park around 5:45 p.m. Victims reported shots hitting several mobile homes, with the majority of the gunfire damaging one home in particular and a vehicle, though thankfully no injuries were reported. As per WWJ Newsradio, authorities said three suspects were arrested, with two additional individuals still being sought.
Witnesses at the scene recounted seeing five individuals flee from the SUV. Still, two suspects, a 20-year-old Detroit woman, and a 26-year-old Eastpointe man, returned to the vehicle shortly after and were apprehended by law enforcement. As reported by ClickOnDetroit, the two were taken into custody without incident. A third suspect, an 18-year-old man from Macomb Township, was also arrested on an unrelated warrant.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office continues its investigation of the unsettling event and urges anyone with any knowledge of the drive-by to come forward. Detective Merlo has been designated as the point of contact, and information can be conveyed either by a call to 586-307-9358 or by email at [email protected]. FOX 2 Detroit provided further details, noting that an AK47, an AR-15, and a handgun with an extended magazine were recovered with the assistance of a Chesterfield Township K9 officer, signaling the dangerous potential of the situation had someone been in the line of fire.
