Las Vegas investigators are grappling with the grim aftermath of a weekend party that ended in tragedy. A Hispanic woman, described as being in her 20s, was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a Central Valley residence on Sunday afternoon. This dark revelation was shared with the public at a press briefing led by Lieutenant Robert Price of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, as reported by FOX5 Vegas. Responding to a 911 call placed around 3:50 p.m., officers were directed to a bedroom where they discovered the deceased.
Details about the events that transpired at the house, located near Rancho Drive and Sahara Avenue, are slowly coming to light. Holding a party that lingered into the early hours of Sunday at around 3 a.m., the occupants of the house were not aware of the woman's fate until waking up later the next day, News3LV reported. Upon finding her body in one of the bedrooms of their home, they reportedly contacted authorities.
Authorities are asking the community for any information related to the incident. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police’s Homicide Section is investigating and encourages partygoers or witnesses to come forward.
