
A tragic event unfolded near Wenatchee yesterday when a collision resulted in four fatalities, including two teenagers, and left several more injured. As reported by KIRO7, the incident occurred on State Route 28 near Voltage around 1:28 p.m. It involved a vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old, attempting to overtake another car when it collided head-on with an oncoming charter bus. The force of the collision then sent the vehicles crashing into the auto that was initially being passed.
As per the information provided by the Washington State Patrol, the car held two individuals, the 17-year-old driver and a passenger, who were pronounced dead at the scene. CBS News identified the passenger as a 17-year-old boy. Adding to the loss, the 66-year-old driver of the charter bus was also confirmed dead at the site of the accident. The aftermath of the collision affected not just those who perished but multiple travelers, with an overall count of seven injured survivors.
The subsequent chaos prompted a response from local authorities and emergency services, who swiftly acted to secure the site and tended to the injured.
