South Los Angeles community was struck by a deadly shooting that left two men dead and five others, including a teen, wounded. The incident took place on Friday night, around 8:00 p.m., in the 13200 block of Jarvis Avenue, close to Athens Park and several blocks southeast of Barack Obama Charter Elementary School. KTLA reported that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the two male victims were found with gunshot wounds and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The authorities shared that alongside the deceased, four additional male adults and one male juvenile were also injured by gunfire. According to CBS News Los Angeles, their wounds were treated at area hospitals and classified as non-life-threatening. As the community reels from the violence, the search for a suspect, or suspects, continues, with details still scarce regarding the perpetrators.
