An early Thursday morning collision at the intersection of 16th and Wilbur in Milwaukee's south side involved a school bus and at least one other vehicle, with the bus coming to rest on its side. CBS 58 reports that the car showed severe front-end damage and was towed away shortly after 7 a.m.
FOX 6 News confirms that the Milwaukee police are now investigating the incident. The crash, involving two vehicles, resulted in two people being transported from the scene. The details concerning the condition of the individuals are not yet disclosed, while police continue to peel back the morning's chaos layer by layer.
Despite the typical images that are brought to mind by school bus accidents, this bus had just one occupant inside. TMJ4 News mentions the detail but has not provided any information regarding whether the solo occupant was the driver or another individual. Authorities have not yet released the extent of the injuries of those involved. Concerns mount, nonetheless, as the community waits for word on the passengers of the other vehicle.
