Two teens, aged 15 and 17, have been arrested in Guadalupe County after being accused of breaking into several vehicles and stealing firearms, as per reports from local law enforcement. The Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Feb. 22 about suspicious activity involving two males in dark clothing checking out vehicles on the 100 block of Laurel Grace Lane, which is located off FM 725 and southeast of New Braunfels, FOX 7 Austin reported.
Upon deputies' arrival, dressed in dark clothing, the two teens were found in possession of firearms that had allegedly been taken from the vehicles they had broken into. Eventually, it was discovered that multiple vehicles had been burglarized in the process, according to information obtained by Yahoo News. The New Braunfels police provided assistance during the apprehension of the suspects.
The seriousness of the situation is underscored by the fact that firearms were among the items stolen, raising concerns about the ease with which the weapons could have been misused. The Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office has since emphasized the importance of preventative measures for vehicle safety. Residents are urged to lock their vehicles and ensure that valuables, especially firearms, are not left inside, as a means to thwart such incidents.
