
UNLV's women's basketball team dominated Utah State 89-51 last night at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. Four Lady Rebels scored in double figures, with Meadow Roland leading the team with 16 points, making 8-of-9 shots from the field. She also had seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
According to a Utah State University Department of Athletics release, Utah State kept the game close in the first quarter, limiting UNLV's shooting to 31.6%. However, the Lady Rebels went on a 20-4 run to take control of the game.
In addition to Roland's performance, McKinna Brackens scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. "Kiara Jackson dished a team-lead seven assists and had two steals on the night," as noted in the UNLV's athletic site. The Rebels dominated the boards, collecting 52 rebounds, and scored 48 points in the paint.
For Utah State, Taliyah Logwood was the leading scorer with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Jamisyn Heaton led Utah State in rebounds with six. Despite this, Utah State struggled offensively and defensively, scoring just eight points in the second quarter.
Looking ahead, the Lady Rebels will play New Mexico on Saturday in Las Vegas. Utah State will host Fresno State, aiming for a better result after their 74-54 loss to them.
