On Tuesday, Feb. 25, your journey into this magnificent landscape will become slightly hindered due to the waterline installation project currently underway. As reported by the City of Colorado Springs, certain areas and access points will be off-limits during this time, though the park will steadfastly remain open to visitors.
The specified closures are crucial to note, for they will surely affect your traverse through the park. The entirety of Garden Drive will be closed on Tuesday, from Juniper Way Loop to Garden Lane. Meanwhile, Juniper Way Loop itself is taking a half-day break from the usual traffic, closing early morning at 5 a.m. and not rolling open the asphalt until after the noon hour at Gateway Drive. According to the City of Colorado Springs, anxious visitors can still set foot on park soil via the Gateway and Bretag trails by parking in Lot 1, or opt to drive via Ridge Road. Just keep in mind, that any four-wheeled friends must exit at Gateway Road.
Still thirsty for more park details? The Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center doesn't plan on leaving you high and dry. This bastion of educational resources and guest amenities will keep its doors open, while spots such as Balanced Rock and Siamese Twins remain accessible through alternate routes like Beckers Lane and Garden Lane.
