Eagle Rock has once again been targeted for its tobacco shops, only this time a more brazen tactic was used. A group of burglars has taken to ramming cars into storefronts to commit their crimes. KTLA obtained video footage of a black Hyundai, believed to be stolen, crashing into the Tobacco Center on Colorado Boulevard, around 6:24 a.m. Visuals depict the vehicle ramming the glass entrance twice before a group of at least three individuals made their entry to strip the shop of its merchandise.

Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived on the scene shortly after the incident to begin their investigation. Though it was not immediately clear exactly how much was taken, the early morning burglary hampered the business that is now enduring the repercussions of a smashed facade and stolen goods. NBC Los Angeles reported that, following the break-in, assailants fled in a white getaway vehicle. The LAPD has yet to release any substantial information regarding the suspects.

Adding to the narrative, a viewer informed KTLA that another tobacco shop in Eagle Rock suffered a similar fate only a few days prior to this latest infraction. This has raised concerns over a possible trend of such brazen thefts, with the LAPD confirming that they are looking into both cases.

Surveillance video from a Ring camera, provided in a report by Patch, substantiated the sequence of events. The footage shows the black sedan forcefully pushing through the iron bars and glass, while at least three culprits rush in to hastily grab goods and then speedily make their escape.
