Tragedy struck Long Beach last night, as the Long Beach Police Department reported on two separate and violent incidents. According to the official LBPD Blotter, officers were called to the 6200 block of Long Beach Boulevard following reports of a shooting yesterday. Upon arrival just before 8 p.m., law enforcement found a man with life-threatening injuries. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he did not survive.
Earlier in the evening, another call summoned LBPD officers to the 600 block of Pacific Avenue in response to a stabbing. The male victim incurred non-life-threatening wounds to the upper body. "Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital," mentioned in the same LBPD Blotter.
Efforts to apprehend the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting have been fruitless so far, with no arrests made at the time. The police have yet to release a statement detailing the nature of the altercation or a possible motive. They have stated, however, that additional information is forthcoming as the situation develops.
In a parallel inquiry, detectives are probing into the stabbing to determine what motivated the attack and who is responsible.
