A major change is underway at the Port of West Sacramento as it continues its modernization efforts. An old warehouse, once used for fertilizer storage, is being demolished as part of a two-month project that also involves removing outdated conveyor systems.
According to an announcement from the City of West Sacramento, materials from the demolition will be used to help fund the redevelopment. The demolition can be viewed from Industrial Blvd. near Harbor Blvd.
Future developments include electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, new yard areas, and potentially a new rice storage warehouse, depending on funding and business opportunities. The Port’s Terminal Operator, SSA Pacific, will guide these projects from start to finish.
