Motorists be warned: Wadsworth Boulevard/38th Avenue intersection will be under the surgeon's knife come Wednesday and Thursday night, with traffic signals getting a facelift, out with the old, in with the new. Lane closures and signal outages will be the order of the night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., as flaggers and officers channel traffic's flow like urban shepherds, according to the City of Wheat Ridge.
While you're carving out detours in your evening plans remember that 38th Avenue is still a no-go zone west of Wadsworth, the avenue's a bustle with full reconstruction, much like a hive to bees, progress is on schedule but the reopening slated for Feb. 17 is a hopeful mark on the calendar, one that hangs on the whims of winter weather, as the city's notice has made clear. Therefore, any dates mentioned are tentative at best, and drivers should keep an ear to the ground for any shifts in schedule.
Plan out those nighttime commutes, folks, because, for those tentative on exact routes, the disruptions could push the chill of inconvenience right up your spine. But there's light at the end of this tunnel, the city promises better, brighter signal equipment which, in the long run, is nothing but good news for those treading the tarmac.
