The White Settlement City Council recently celebrated the professional advancement of three of its firefighters. Firefighters Chase Nara, Nicholas Camperlengo, and Nicholas Roeming were officially recognized for completing their probationary period. During a ceremony at the City Council meeting, the firefighters were awarded their black firefighter helmet shields.
In the announcement, the White Settlement Fire Department explained the symbolism behind the helmet shields. Recruits start with a yellow shield, which signifies their year of probation. During this time, they focus on honing their skills and proving their readiness to serve the community fully. The black shield was presented during Wednesday's ceremony, symbolizing a fully recognized and trusted firefighter in the department.
Congratulations to the three firefighters who have poured in from the community, with many recognizing the hard work and dedication required to reach this point in their firefighting careers.
