The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is seeking public input on the environmental review of a proposed water improvement project in North Fond du Lac. The project, which aims to build Well #5, is part of the village's plan to improve its public drinking water system and is eligible for funding through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

The Department of Natural Resources initially determined there would be no significant environmental impact, but federal regulations require a formal review before funding can be provided. Even though the project is classified as a minor action under Chapter NR 150, Wis. Admin. Code, the federal procedural review is still required.

Residents and stakeholders can submit comments on the project to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources until February 20, by emailing [email protected] or mailing Brian Boelkow, Community Financial Assistance. Public input will help determine if an environmental analysis is needed before final funding decisions.
