A somber discovery was made near the 101 Freeway in Camarillo on Friday, as what appeared to be a female body was found lying in a ravine. The Ventura County Aviation Unit, whilst conducting an aerial search for a missing person, spotted the deceased shortly before noon. Authorities, including California Highway Patrol officers and Ventura County Sheriff’s Department detectives, quickly convened on the scene to investigate, as reported by KTLA.
The specifics of the woman's death, including how she died and how long her body might have been undiscovered, have yet to be released. Detectives indicated that foul play was not suspected at this stage, as per KTLA. As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials have not ruled out possibly involving drugs or alcohol in the incident. The police have made no arrests, and neither the identity nor age of the deceased has been disclosed.
VC Star mentioned the body was discovered around three-quarters of a mile south of Camarillo Springs Road, and about 100 to 150 yards off the freeway. There was no vehicle found near the site, leading authorities to believe the woman might have walked to where she was ultimately found.
