A woman and her infant were involved in a car crash at Chubby's Restaurant in Manteca when her vehicle collided with the building. The incident occurred before the restaurant opened, with no customers or employees inside at the time, as reported by the Manteca Police Department.
A woman in her 30s, driving a Toyota Prius with her 6-month-old child on board, accidentally drove forward instead of reversing from a parking space, causing the vehicle to penetrate about 8 feet into Chubby's Restaurant. Despite the significant structural damage, neither the woman nor the child were injured. The vehicle, owned by a Manteca resident, sustained minor damage. The woman, who holds only a learner's permit and was not impaired, received a citation for unlicensed driving. The property owner arrived quickly to secure the business, as stated by the Manteca Police Department.
According to the Manteca Police Department on their Facebook page, a collision occurred at Chubby’s, 265 W. Louise Avenue, on Tuesday at 3:08 PM. The police are asking any witnesses to contact the Manteca Traffic Unit and reference incident #2502180068 to assist with the investigation. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
