Local drivers should prepare for upcoming changes as the Wright County Highway Department has announced the beginning of a bridge replacement project. Starting Monday, Feb. 24, the bridge on County Highway 5 crossing the North Fork Crow River, located northeast of Cokato in Middleville Township, will be shut down for through traffic. According to a recent release, the initiation of work is dependent on favorable weather conditions.
With the bridge closure, a detour will reroute traffic primarily along CSAH 35, CSAH 4, and Co. Rd. 125. Although the inconvenience might unsettle, sufficient signage will guide drivers around the construction zone. The highway department anticipates the project's completion by the end of July 2025, barring unforeseen delays.
Residents and frequent travelers can expect regular updates on the progress of the construction and any changes to the detour routes, ensuring that all who depend on this thoroughfare remain informed. For those seeking more information or with specific questions concerning the bridge replacement, contact details have been provided; Matt Messerly, Wright County Construction Engineer, can be reached either by email at [email protected] or by phone at (651) 627-4386.
