Yolo County residents can share their opinions on supporting low-income families. The Yolo County Community Services Action Board is asking for public input to help determine how to allocate funds for the 2026-27 Community Services Block Grant funding cycle. The feedback will help set priorities for services funded by the grant, according to the Yolo County.
Yolo County residents can attend two public hearings. The first will be on February 25, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Yolo County Health and Human Services Building in Woodland. The second will take place on February 27, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library's Blanchard Room. Details for hearings in West Sacramento and Winters are still to be announced and will be provided in a future press release.
The Community Services Advisory Board advises the Yolo County Board of Supervisors on how to use Community Services Block Grant funding for low-income residents. Established by the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, its purpose is to support health, safety, stability, and self-sufficiency. The Community Services Advisory Board conducts a community needs assessment every two years, sets goals, and reviews progress. The proposed plan for the next funding cycle will be posted on the Community Services Advisory Board webpage at least five days before the public hearing. More details are available in the Community Services Advisory Board's Bylaws on the Yolo County website.
