
A confrontation in Midtown Houston yesterday morning resulted in one man’s death and another man being injured. Houston Police responded to the scene on the 2300 block of Bagby Street around 1 a.m., where they found two individuals with gunshot wounds amid a large gathering. According to FOX 26 Houston, one victim was shot in the arm and is being treated at a hospital, while the second victim died from his injuries at the scene.
Further details were shared as the family of the deceased identified him as 21-year-old Julian Comeaux. Comeaux was scheduled to begin a career with the Navy the following Friday and was known to have had a trouble-free background. "Comeaux was set to depart for the Navy this upcoming Friday and was never in trouble," a friend said in an interview with ABC13 Houston.
The incident reportedly unfolded when a suspect, engaged in breaking into vehicles near Bagby and Hadley, was confronted by Comeaux and his friends. According to police statements, an altercation ensued, during which the suspect drew a firearm and shot both Comeaux and his friend before fleeing. At this stage of the investigation, the police have not provided a description of the suspect.
Houston Police are continuing their investigation and encouraging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
