
A 17-year-old boy has died following a shooting incident inside a home located in Pittsburgh's Knoxville neighborhood. According to WPXI, the shooting took place yesterday, and the police were alerted to the incident at approximately 1:09 p.m. by a ShotSpotter notification.
Upon arrival at the scene on the 100 block of Rochelle Street, the responding officers discovered the teenager who had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite the life-saving efforts that the officers attempted, the teen was pronounced dead after medics arrived, as reported by CBS News Pittsburgh. The name of the deceased has not been released to the public yet.
In connection with the shooting, authorities have detained an individual who they consider a person of interest. According to a statement detailed by WTAE, Pittsburgh Public Safety officials have communicated that there is no ongoing threat to community safety.
