An incident late Friday night in the 3500 block of California left an 18-year-old man injured from gunfire, according to a report by the local police. The shooting, which occurred around 11 p.m., prompted a response from District 3 officers who discovered the young man with two bullet wounds to his leg. Despite the severity of the situation, the victim and witnesses failed to provide substantial cooperation to the authorities.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported that the victim was at the time standing on a front porch visiting friends when the shots rang out, striking him. After the officers arrived on the scene, they found the 18-year-old and promptly facilitated his transportation to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
The investigation, hindered by limited witness cooperation, continues as detectives seek more information. Police are urging anyone with knowledge about the shooting to come forward.
