
A tragic incident unfolded on March 16 when a 31-year-old pedestrian and his dog were struck and killed by a vehicle in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the collision occurred at the intersection of Kendrick Castillo Way and Mayberry Dr. around 2:54 p.m. Deputies and the Douglas County Traffic Unit were called to the scene for investigation.
The adult male was found deceased upon the arrival of first responders. The dog involved in the collision was also injured and transported to a local veterinary hospital, where it was later reported dead. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Cade Kaminski, did not flee the scene and was taken into custody following the incident.
Kaminski now faces multiple charges, including Vehicular Homicide and Cruelty to Animals, as reported by Douglas County Sheriff's Office. He has been booked into the Douglas County Detention Facility where he awaits further legal proceedings for his involvement in the fatal crash. The Douglas County Coroner's Office has the charge of identifying the deceased, but no additional information regarding the victim’s identity has been released.
