A Mount Pleasant evening took a turn for the worse when a 20-year-old male was held at gunpoint and robbed, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports. The incident occurred on Tuesday, behind a Conoco Gas Station on the 4300 block of S. Broadway. According to a press release by the SLMPD, the young man was approached by two unidentified males around 10 p.m. who, weapon in hand, demanded his possessions.
The report details that after pointing their firearms at him, the suspects forcefully relieved the victim of his mobile phone and a Lacrosse crossbody bag. The perpetrators then made their escape, running from the scene of these with frightening speed, leaving the young man shaken but physically unharmed. As it stands, the authorities have kicked off an investigation to catch the assailants responsible for this crime.
It is noted that the victim did not sustain any injuries during the robbery— a small mercy in an otherwise grim occurrence.
