Clark County has begun construction on the $53 million Lake Mead Microbusiness Park in the Historic Westside. The project will include 76 workforce housing units and commercial spaces aimed at supporting local businesses. More than 200 residents, along with county and state officials and members of the Parson-Mason family, attended the groundbreaking ceremony, according to the Clark County.
Commissioner William McCurdy II and stakeholders announced the Lake Mead Microbusiness Park, a development in the Historic Westside. "This groundbreaking represents more than just new construction – it's an investment in the future of our Historic Westside community," McCurdy said. The project will include over 20,000 square feet of commercial space with first-floor retail, offices, and restaurants, along with second-floor offices, classrooms, multimedia studios, and collaborative spaces. It will also feature an entrepreneur maker space for business development. The residential units will be available to families earning up to 80% of the area's median income, as stated by the Clark County.
The Lake Mead Microbusiness Park, scheduled for completion in 2026, will be located next to the Parson-Mason family home and honor Stella Mason Parson, Nevada’s first African American woman college graduate in 1952, and her husband, Rev. Claude H. Parson Jr. The project is funded in part by Clark County and the State of Nevada through American Rescue Plan Act resources and will include housing and commercial spaces, with leasing set to open in early 2026. Metcalf Builders is overseeing housing construction. “We are thrilled to expand our presence to Las Vegas’s Historic Westside,” said David Brint, Co-Founder and Principal at Brinshore Development. The development will also connect with local workforce programs such as the Las Vegas Culinary Academy and Nevada Partners.
