Two men were arrested at a hotel in Aberdeen following a police operation that targeted illegal drug sales, according to an announcement from the Aberdeen Police Department. During their search, a variety of narcotics and a firearm were confiscated, as first reported by FOX Baltimore.
Darnell Mitchell, aged 40, and Riyad Carter, 21, are now facing charges, with Mitchell booked on felony drug charges, and Carter is on the hook for felony drugs and weapons charges. The operation took place in the 700 block of W. Bel Air Ave, which resulted in detectives serving nine search warrants and the seizure of these illicit items, recovered items included over two ounces of suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl caps, approximately 40 grams of marijuana, a Taurus 9mm handgun, and $6,849 in cash.
In the wake of this crackdown, hotel management has stated its commitment to ousting those involved in illegal activity from its premises. "This operation highlights our department's ongoing commitment to safeguarding our community by actively pursuing those who choose to engage in dangerous and unlawful activities," Chief of Police Henry Trabert said in a statement reported by FOX Baltimore.
