Earlier today, a residential fire swept through a home in Northwest Miami-Dade, resulting in injuries to an adult and two children. As reported by Local 10, the fire occurred in Brownsville, near Allapattah, specifically at a one-story gray house on Northwest 41 Street, close to 23 Court. Suffering from smoke inhalation, the victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were called to the scene shortly after 8:45 a.m., with thick black smoke reported to be pouring from the residence. The action on site involved nine units by 9:35 a.m., with fire personnel conducting attacks to suppress the fire, which, according to WSVN, has since been extinguished. After the fire, deputies and a Red Cross team were also present to provide assistance.
The specific cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage are still under investigation. A man, wearing a red T-shirt was seen being questioned by a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue investigator; his connection to the incident, however, remains unclear at this time.
Community concern was evident as neighbors watched the scene unfold. A neighbor, expressing himself in Spanish, alluded to the affected residents as a family living in a unit of the structure. "The fire had affected a family that lived in a unit at a one-story gray house," he told Local 10. The current status of the adult and the two children who were inhaling possible smoke has not been disclosed by authorities.
