
The Akron Police Department has issued a call for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a felony theft. According to a post shared by the Akron Police Department on its Facebook page, the theft occurred last Sunday at approximately 9:30 a.m. at the Damak Mini Mart, where an individual made off with multiple rolls of lottery tickets.
The stolen items, comprising four rolls of lottery tickets, have an estimated value of $1,500. The suspect promptly fled the scene on foot, and the local authorities are making strides to apprehend the individual responsible. While urging witnesses or anyone with knowledge of the crime to come forward, tips can be submitted anonymously to various contact points, including Detective Sgt. M. Joyner at 330-375-2490, the APD Tip Line, and Summit County Crimestoppers, Inc.
The department's announcement addressed the urgency of community involvement in solving this crime, providing specific instructions for submitting information. They stress that personal information should not be shared as a comment on social media posts but should instead be sent through private channels or via the Akron PD app, where individuals can send texts to Tips411 or access their tip submission link.
