Arlington Parks and Recreation has declared its animal services critical in an urgent call to the community. Dog kennels are now at full capacity. The shelter, an open intake facility, faces what they describe as anything but the "slow season" they were expecting.
In their appeal, Arlington Animal Services has ensured potential adopters that all dogs in the adoption program have been evaluated, and no negative behaviors have been observed. They encourage those with pets to bring them along for meet-and-greets with potential new companions. Arlington Animal Services has dropped the adoption fee to just $5 to quickly find homes for these dogs.
Detailed information about each dog up for adoption can be found through the links provided on their pictures in Arlington Parks and Recreation's original post. Those interested in adopting or becoming temporary fosters for these animals are being guided to email animal services. They are also teaming up with rescue partners, although those groups are reportedly full at the moment.
There's also a call for owners of lost pets to reclaim their furry friends from the shelter. The post mentioned that a comprehensive list of all current lost pets housed at the shelter can be viewed on their website.
