The Arlington Police Department recently announced the arrest of Joshua Robinson, 17, in connection with the shooting death of Zacchaeus Selby-Mukum, 19, at an apartment complex on Laurelwood Drive. According to the official police report released on January 14, Selby-Mukum succumbed to his injuries after being found with a gunshot wound in the parking lot on the evening of January 13.

Following an in-depth investigation, homicide detectives were able to obtain a warrant for Robinson's arrest. On Tuesday, he was located and apprehended without incident by U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force members. The discovery of Selby-Mukum's use of a social media app to sell firearms added layer to the case, revealing that he had arranged to meet a potential buyer on the evening of his death. This buyer was later identified as Robinson.

Surveillance footage captured near the scene showed Selby-Mukum approaching a Nissan Altima that had entered the complex, and soon after, the altercation took place. The driver of the vehicle, who was later confirmed to be Robinson, was seen moving toward the area where Selby-Mukum was shot before re-entering the car and quickly exiting the premises. As per the release from the Arlington Police Department, phone records also indicated that Robinson had placed a call to Selby-Mukum shortly before the incident.

Witnesses initially spoke of hearing an argument followed by gunshots, which led detectives to theorize a possible transaction dispute as the motive behind the homicide. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office released the identity of the deceased as Zacchaeus Selby-Mukum following the incident. Despite the arrest, APD continues to encourage anyone with additional information to reach out to Detective VanTreeck at (817) 459-5691, pointing toward the ongoing nature of the inquiry.
