The CEO of a suburban trucking firm, ATG Truckload, which is based at 13835 S. Kostner Avenue, Crestwood, was discovered killed in a burning building, reports from local authorities indicate. Dane Koletski, 46, was found on the property's second floor as firefighters put out the flames engulfing the structure last Wednesday.
According to ABC7 Chicago, the tragic discovery prompted the Crestwood police to launch a dual homicide and arson investigation. It was deemed that Koletski's fatality was a homicide. The Cook County Medical Examiner reported that Koletski had succumbed to a stab wound to the neck. In a disturbing twist, an employee of Koletski surfaced as a prime suspect, the incident is believed to have been an intentional act directed at him.
The following morning, the suspect was taken into custody at a truck stop in Holland, Michigan, yet their identity remains undisclosed. Currently holding them on a murder warrant, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office in Michigan is awaiting the individual's extradition back to Illinois to face charges.
A corroborating WGN-TV report added that a GoFundMe fundraiser has been established by friends of the deceased to assist with funeral expenses. The police state that the investigation continues to unfold in coordination with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and with support from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office.
