In an effort to bring new life to local tennis, the City of Atlantic Beach has partnered with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Florida to evaluate and potentially enhance the sport in the community. According to a recent announcement on the USTA website, this collaboration aims not only to improve access to tennis but also to guide informed decisions about the future of tennis facilities and programming in the area.
USTA Florida is gathering input from the community to understand local tennis needs. Representatives met with residents at Russell Park yesterday and today to hear their thoughts. Those who couldn't attend can still share their feedback via email until March 31.
Accessibility and enhancement of tennis offerings sit atop the agenda of this collaboration. The city believes in the merit of joining forces with an organization as seasoned as USTA – the feedback and data collected here could influence decisions around potential facility upgrades or whether Atlantic Beach could become the new hotspot for league play and tennis programs.
