
Bay City is grappling with the aftermath of a deadly shooting that occurred last Saturday. The Bay City Department of Public Safety responded to the scene at the intersection of 18th Street and South Sherman Street, near the 11:11 Bar and Grill, after receiving reports of a man shot just after 2 a.m.
Upon their arrival, officers swiftly located Kane Elliott Crockett, a 28-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite promptly being transported to McLaren Bay Region Hospital, Crockett tragically died during emergency surgery. ABC12 described the suspect as a light-skinned black man who managed to swiftly flee the scene in a red sedan before authorities could arrive.
Investigators are actively pursuing leads and have urged the public to assist by sharing any pertinent information. In this concerted effort, the Bay County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police are aiding the Bay City Department of Public Safety.
