A drug raid coordinated by Benton and Humphreys County Sheriff's Offices has unearthed a substantial amount of illegal narcotics hidden in a place authorities probably didn't expect to look at first glance — a toilet. According to WSMV, the joint investigation, which took place on March 17, targeted a residence in Humphreys County recognized as a key narcotics supplier affecting both regions.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) said the investigation initially sparked in Benton County after information pointed to the home in neighboring Humphreys County. Deputies managed to quickly secure and execute a search warrant at the Long Street address in New Johnsonville.

During the search, law enforcement officers found evidence of tampering before the unsettling discovery of methamphetamine concealed within the toilet. In addition to the drugs, a firearm was found on the premises and has been taken as evidence. A post on the Benton County Sheriff's Office Facebook page affirmed that "several people were safely detained" throughout the execution of the joint operation.

While the quantity of drugs retrieved from the toilet was not disclosed, an article from WKRN referred to it as a "large quantity of methamphetamine." The search and subsequent findings mark a continued effort to actively investigate and crack down on local narcotics trafficking, which seems to have found a rather unique place to hide contraband.

As authorities delve further into this case, the investigation remains both ongoing and active. Details concerning the detainees or charges have not yet been released as the two sheriff’s offices continue their collaborative efforts to upend narcotic distribution networks in their counties.
