Originally scheduled for March 29 at Ford Field, fans are advised that their tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date.
The renowned musician with decades of performing experience is not taking any chances with his health. Undergoing physical therapy post-operation, Joel's tour interruption was announced yesterday, impacting a slew of dates across North America and in the U.K., as per CBS News Detroit. The delay will span four months, with a projected tour resumption on July 5 at Pittsburgh's Acrisure Stadium.
"While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first," Joel stated, signaling his eagerness to return to the stage. This sentiment was echoed in the update from Detroit Free Press. "I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding," Joel added.
Apart from the Detroit stop, cities like Toronto, Syracuse, Salt Lake City, and Milwaukee, along with an international stop in Edinburgh, Scotland, are scheduled to wait for their moment with the Piano Man. The shows that were expected in Charlotte and Liverpool have also been postponed, indicating the widespread impact of Joel's medical hiatus. The performer's team expressed optimism about a complete recovery, marked by fans holding their breath as they anticipate his return to Ford Field in November.
