A fire in Nānākuli has displaced five residents. Last Thursday morning, 37 firefighters responded to a 911 call at 9:28 a.m. and arrived at 9:32 a.m. to find a single-story home and a vehicle fully engulfed in flames at 89-245 Kawao Avenue, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.

The Honolulu Fire Department controlled the fire by 9:51 a.m. and fully extinguished it by 10:32 a.m. A search showed no people were in half of the building, and the other part was too unstable to enter. The homeowners confirmed everyone was safe. The American Red Cross was contacted to help displaced residents. 

The Honolulu Fire Department and the American Red Cross are assisting residents displaced by the fire. All Honolulu Fire Department personnel were accounted for with no injuries. Honolulu Fire Department stated that they are investigating the cause of the fire and will share details once the investigation is complete.
