The search for 62-year-old Glen Alan Keer, who vanished in late February, has come to a close as authorities from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office have reportedly discovered his body in Lake Pleasant. Keer was last known to be alive on February 26, and his family members reported him missing the following day. Officials told FOX 10 Phoenix that the body, located in the vicinity of Jackass Cove, appeared to match Keer's physical characteristics despite significant decomposition.
The circumstances leading up to the discovery are still to further be investigated. Maricopa County authorities committed a range of assets in their search efforts, including water search teams, cadaver dogs, and aerial support. According to information obtained by 12News, Keer's abandoned boat was found drifting on Lake Pleasant and his truck remained parked at the Lake Pleasant Harbor Marina.
While an official identification by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office was pending due to the state of the body, preliminary assessments were suggestive that it was indeed Keer, as no other individuals were recently reported missing in the area. This confirmation came as a poignant moment for Keer's family, who have since received the body for funeral arrangements.
The sheriff's office conveyed to 12News their belief that Keer may have drowned. Nothing suspicious has been suggested to be at play in Keer's passing.
