The Pasadena Police Department, along with the Houston Police, is investigating the discovery of the body of a missing 20-year-old University of Houston-Clear Lake student in southeast Houston. Payas Deo was last seen leaving his residence at The Reserve at Clear Lake on the night of February 8 and was reported missing shortly after.
After a weeks-long search involving Texas EquuSearch and local law enforcement, Deo’s remains were found near Dumas Street last Saturday. According to KHOU, the remains were in an "advanced state of decomposition." The Pasadena Police Department, confirmed the identity based on a medical examiner's positive identification and are now awaiting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Earlier in the investigation, Deo's vehicle, a gray 2015 Toyota Camry, was discovered abandoned and with signs of possible struggle. According to the family, Deo's shoes were found inside the car, which adds to the uncertainty surrounding his disappearance.
