On the afternoon of March 4, a two-vehicle collision left one man hospitalized and rattled the rural calm of Morrison County. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported that at about 3:52 p.m., they were called to the scene at the intersection of Bison Road and 230th Street, where the roads slice through the heart of Parker Township, just a stone's throw from Randall, MN.
According to their official statement, 61-year-old Dwight Soderman of Brainerd was heading east on 230th Street when his vehicle was unexpectedly struck after 40-year-old Lance Hedin of Motley, northbound on Bison Road, entered the intersection. It would appear, from the initial investigation, that Hedin failed to yield appropriately, setting the stage for the collision.
Soderman, following the crash, required medical attention and was promptly transported by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to St. Gabriel's Hospital. The extent of his injuries remaining a concern unanswered in the public mind. The crash's aftermath brought together first responders. Among those who assisted, Randall Fire and Rescue personnel were on site, as per the Morrison County Sheriff's Office.
