A tragic incident unfolded on a Butler County road this weekend as a motorcycle crash claimed the life of a local man. According to WPXI, first responders were dispatched to State Route 422 shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday, where they encountered the aftermath of a severe accident that led to a fatality.
Authorities confirmed the victim as Ronald Litzinger, age 43, of Butler. Reports indicate that the motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle, leading to a fatal sequence of events. A Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson stated that Litzinger emerged from his lane, struck the center median barrier, and collided with a guide rail. Witnesses described the motorcycle as "wobbling violently" before the crash. Sadly, Litzinger was identified as the deceased in this tragic occurrence.
WTAE provided further details, noting that no other vehicles were involved. State Route 422 was temporarily closed at the Mitchell Hill exit but reopened by 3 p.m. the same day. Pennsylvania State Trooper Cazy informed the public about the road closure in a social media post shortly after noon. The route was subsequently cleared for traffic several hours after the accident.
