
A tragic incident struck the Carmichael community when a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Wednesday evening. According to ABC10, the collision occurred around 6:34 p.m. on the 4900 block of Marconi Avenue.
As per reports by the California Highway Patrol cited by KCRA, the victim, a woman in her 40s, was attempting to cross Marconi Avenue across the westbound lanes when she was hit by a Sedan. Unfortunately, she was not utilizing a crosswalk at the time of the crash. Driving a Sedan and in her 60s, the woman was behind the wheel when her vehicle crashed into the pedestrian.
Emergency services arrived on scene and promptly transported the severely injured woman to a nearby hospital. Sadly, her injuries proved fatal, and she later died at the medical facility. The identity of the woman has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Details surrounding the circumstances of the crash are still being investigated.
