Customs and Border Protection officers at the Anzalduas International Bridge seized narcotics worth over $400,000. The drugs were discovered on Tuesday when officers at the Anzalduas cargo facility stopped a white Ford SUV entering from Mexico, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Border officers discovered 14 packages of suspected cocaine during a vehicle inspection, as reported by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The packages, weighing approximately 34.65 pounds (15.72 kilograms), were found using advanced nonintrusive inspection equipment. The case remains under investigation.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized narcotics and a vehicle at the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry. Port Director Carlos Rodriguez stated, "CBP continues to safeguard our border by using all our tools and technology to thwart these smuggling attempts." Homeland Security Investigations special agents have opened a criminal investigation.
