Chandler is spotlighting the spirit of the community once again with its annual call for nominations for the city’s Volunteer Recognition Awards—individuals and groups have until March 14 to get their submissions in, announced the City in a recent news release. Local heroes across eight categories for their service through the past year are set to be honored, a chance to celebrate those who step up without expecting a spotlight.

Organizations of all walks—be it faith-based, nonprofits, schools, or businesses—are encouraged to throw a name in the hat for one of the eight awards; this includes the Innovation Award, for creative problem solvers, the Longevity Award for those in it for the long haul, Makes It Happen, Master Multitasker, and Strong Arms, for the doers who dive into the thick of it, the Sunbeam Award, championing unwavering optimism. Also included is the Working Together distinction, for group efforts changing community landscapes, not to mention a shout-out to the younger generation with the Youth Volunteer of the Year accolade.

Dara Gibson with Chandler’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division is the go-to contact for any award-related inquiries at 480-782-2221, and the winners will find out how they've made a difference during a special event on the morning of Friday, April 11, at the Chandler Center for the Arts, as per the official City's statement.
