
A tragic encounter unfolded in Chandler when a knife-wielding 27-year-old man was fatally shot by local police amidst a domestic violence incident, as FOX 10 Phoenix reports. The altercation occurred near Chandler Boulevard and Hamilton Street shortly after noon, with police responding to multiple 911 calls detailing an elderly neighbor's plea for help during a family dispute. According to witnesses, the man, whose identity remains undisclosed, harbored suicidal tendencies and directed threats at a family member.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers confronted the man outside, who, refusing to relinquish his weapon, reportedly charged the officers precipitating the shooting, the FOX 10 Phoenix detailed the situation. The man was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, and it was confirmed that no officers sustained injuries during the incident.
