The Charlotte Knights are all set to swing into their 2025 season, going up against the Gwinnett Stripers in a home series running from tomorrow to Sunday at Truist Field. Fans attending the second day of the series on March 29 will be treated to a visual delight, courtesy of a sky-scraping drone light show consisting of 150 drones. The event marks the 11th anniversary since the Knights took up residence at S. Mint Street, and aims to set a celebratory tone for the upcoming season, as reported by Country 103.7 FM.

Spearheading the Knights this season is new manager Sergio Santos, a former Major League pitcher, who seems optimistic about the team's composition. "What's not to like? We have such a good mix of really good pitching, our defense and we've got a lot of boppers," Santos remarked in a statement obtained by WCNC. "The hardest part for me is where to find these guys in the lineup." Fans will also experience the introduction of new video boards at the Truist Field, including an impressive one in left field. This upgrade is part of a $4 million investment by Diamond Baseball Holdings, who added the club to its portfolio last June, according to WCNC.

On the roster front, the Knights might feature experienced pitcher Mike Clevinger, who has a notable 3.51 ERA from over 800 innings pitched in the majors. However, his presence on the White Sox’s Opening Day roster is yet to be confirmed, which leaves the possibility open for him starting the year with Charlotte, WBTV reports. Additionally, pitchers Jake Eder, Jairo Iriarte, Nick Nastrini, Jared Shuster, Gus Varland, and Owen White who wrapped up their last season on Chicago’s 40-man roster, are expected to wear Knights jerseys this spring.

The future is also bright with prospects like Kyle Teel, Colson Montgomery, Edgar Quero, and Chase Meidroth, who rank within the top nine on the White Sox’s prospects list, potentially joining the Knights' roster if they don't make the cut for Chicago's Opening Day, WBTV adds. A couple of them could potentially step onto the field for the White Sox, with others likely to lend their talents to Charlotte. With a blend of seasoned players and promising new blood, the Knights are piecing together a team that’s looking as formidable as it's diverse.
