
A discovery was made in the 6100 block of Old Mount Holly Road yesterday. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have launched an investigation into a homicide case in the Freedom Division neighborhood, according to a statement from the CMPD.
After first responders were called to an Assist Medic request just after 11 a.m., they initially believed the victim was experiencing a medical emergency. However, upon further examination at Atrium Main, medical professionals determined the victim had a gunshot wound, which led to her death despite efforts to save her.
The CMPD has deployed its Homicide Unit to the scene, where detectives are working to gather information, according to a press release. Crime Scene Search units are also at the scene, collecting physical evidence from the incident.
