Residents in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the surrounding areas can expect a changeable weather pattern this week, with showers making way for sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). On Monday morning, the forecast states showers are "likely, mainly before 11am," with conditions clearing up to provide a mostly sunny afternoon and a high of 70 degrees. As the week progresses, the area will see climbing temperatures, potentially reaching up to 80 degrees on Sunday. NWS Charlotte last updated this information at 6:52 am EDT today.
The outlook for Tuesday seems to brighten as it will be "Sunny, with a high near 75," the winds are expected to start off light, then pick to up 5 to 10 mph in the morning, possibly gusting as high as 20 mph. Continuing this trend, Wednesday will also be sunny with similar wind conditions, while Thursday will be sunny with a high near 67. The pleasant weather is set to continue, with mostly clear nights and sunny days straight through to the end of the week.
In addition to the detailed forecast, the NWS issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for various regions including northeast Georgia, Piedmont North Carolina, western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina. While no immediate hazardous weather is predicted for today and tonight, fire danger is expected to increase from Tuesday through Saturday. This increase is due to "the combination of low relative humidity and drier fuels," as NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC reported at 4:06 AM EDT today.
