A hazmat emergency was declared in downtown Boston at Citizen M Hotel, where a chemical spill prompted a safety operation by emergency services yesterday. According to a WHDH news report, the incident took place around 1:20 p.m. at the hotel located at 70 Causeway Street. The Boston Fire Department teams arrived swiftly to engage and to safely manage the situation that had arisen from a spilled bottle containing an unspecified substance.
The situation resulted in three individuals—a duo of women and one man—being exposed to hazardous material, requiring evaluation at a hospital for non-life-threatening conditions. In response, the Boston Fire Department's Haz-Mat Technicians conducted tests to ensure the air quality was no longer compromised. They successfully contained and neutralized the chemical threat, as confirmed by an X post from the Boston Fire Department, which outlined the contained nature of the incident and the transport of the individuals for medical evaluation.
